Conversations with Jesus: Forgiveness
Mark Green
Peter. He is one of the most well known characters in the New Testament. He was a disciple of Christ and one of those closest to Jesus. Peter was instrumental in founding the church and preached a message that resulted in 3000 people coming to Christ.
He was a key leader in the spread of the early church. A risk taker, Peter boldly took the Gospel to the Gentiles which in that day was incredibly radical. He wrote a few books of the New Testament. Peter was a great leader for Jesus.
Yet, none of those things would have happened if Jesus had not had a conversation with him on a beach at the Sea of Tiberias. That day on the beach Jesus was talking to a man who was dejected, wandering, and confused. At that moment no one, including Peter himself, would have believed he could accomplish what we described above. A short conversation with Jesus made Peter different. Jesus can do the same for you and me.
