International Students
Each year, hundreds of internationals arrive at Old Dominion University as undergraduates, graduate students, and visiting scholars. Displaced from their home culture, most of them lack a sense of connection to their new community. A purely academic experience is not sufficient for them to get to know a new country and its people. They need a link to American families, enriching everyone in the resulting cultural exchange. Our International Ministry is about building friendships and welcoming people of all faiths to explore the message of Christianity through meaningful conversations over cups of tea, a meal, or even a trip to the beach. For many students, this is their first opportunity to read the Bible and dialogue about the Christian faith.
